From the “Big Six” to the little six thousand

Local electricity supply business models could be real alternatives to the ‘Big Six’ and offer benefits to the wider energy system and consumers alike, but they face significant barriers and their potential is going untapped. A new report by Stephen Hall and Katy Roelich identifies a series of opportunities through which local electricity supply could transform the energy system and the policy and regulatory change necessary to enable this.
